“Bringing Oysters Back to New York Harbor”

Join us for this free program on Zoom on Wednesday March 6 at 7 PM.

New York Harbor was once home to the greatest oyster habitat on the planet–before we fished and polluted them out. Now, communities across the city are working to bring the once plentiful bivalves back. This talk examines the past, present, and potential future of oysters in New York’s waters.    

Dr. Palfreyman is an associate professor in the history department at Wagner College and a graduate of Red Hook High School.
