Join Historic Red Hook and the Classical American Homes Preservation Trust for an afternoon devoted to an appreciation of the remarkable life and important career of the author and essayist Gore Vidal, who lived at Edgewater from 1950 to 1969. Celebrated for his fiction as well as for his trenchant political and social criticism, Vidal was also a pathbreaker in gay literature. An introduction to his life and work will be followed by readings from selected works and a discussion with the audience. Visitors also enjoy live music from the Hudson Valley Chamber Musicians and refreshments on the lawn.
