Join us for our annual living history event! Step back in time to 1813, to when the Elmendorph Inn, then known as “Jacob Loop’s Hotel,”  was the heart of activity in the town. 

Interact with costumed historical interpreters throughout the building. In the great South Room, participate in a local court trial and learn about crime and punishment in Red Hook’s first years as an independent town. Join in as plaintiff, defendant, or witness and explore the ways in which men, women, and children used the court system to their advantage. Try your hand at dancing in the Parlor, with the local dance master and caller.  In the Tap Room, experience all the activity that would accompany a town court session, including a full cast of local characters from farmers to postmen engaged in everything from making business deals to gambling.
